Vezzosi, Britton advanced to Wednesday's section semifinals with perfect Tuesday performances

A potential all-Wayzata matchup is still possible after Tuesday’s Section 6AA meet. 

The Trojans have No. 3 Dustin Britton and No. 4 Scott Vezzosi in the section semifinals, which resume at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center. 

Britton, who went 2-0 on Tuesday, will face Robbinsdale Armstrong’s Mark Conrad. Britton defeated Hopkins’ Andy Harris 6-1, 6-0 in his first match, then followed it up with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Minneapolis South’s David Yanagita in the quarterfinals.

Vezzosi also went 2-0 on Tuesday, defeating Benilde-St. Margaret’s Jimmy Borin 6-0, 6-1 before topping Edina’s Kavir Kumar 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

The Trojans’ doubles teams were eliminated in the quarterfinals. No. 5 seeded Duncan Sallstrom and Giuliano Kornberg went 1-1 on the day, losing to Edina, while No. 7 seeded Michael Anderson and Ketan Kulkarni also went 1-1, falling to Hopkins.
