Wayzata Golf Teams Headed To State
Burnham claims Section 6AAA individual championship as both the Trojans girls, boys squads punch tickets for Class AAA Tournament.

The spring season continued to wind down as the Wayzata boys and girls golf teams each qualified for the state tournament, as did one talented Trojans tennis player.
Wayzata Girls Golf: Burnham Wins Individual Title To Lead Trojans To Championship
Sarah Burnham won the Section 6AAA individual championship by nine strokes with a two-day total of 155 at the Ridges of Sand Creek to lead the Wayzata girls golf team to a sectional title with a 664 in competition that concluded on Wednesday.

Also competing for the Trojans in the 6AAA competition were: Liz Bauernfeind (167), Taylor Fontaine (169), Emily Erickson (175), Becca Lewis (177) and Taylor Darula (191).
Wayzata moves on to the Class AAA State Tournament, set to begin on June 14 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.

Wayzata Boys Golf: Trojans Win Section 6AAA Title By 18 Strokes
The Wayzata boys golf team earned its trip to state by winning the Section 6AAA championship by 18 strokes with a score of 604 after two days of competition at the Ridges of Sand Creek that concluded on Wednesday.
Jack Higginson finished second in the sectional individual competition, leading the Trojans with a 150; Miles Death took third in third with a 151, Tyler Lowenstein in fourth with a 152 and Jack Holmgren tying for sixth with a 155.
Zach Lowenstein recorded a 161 and Andrew Brandt a 165 to round out Wayzata's team card.
Wayzata Boys Tennis: Britton Earns State Berth
With a runner-up finish in the Section 6AA boys tennis individual tournament on Wednesday, Wayzata's Zach Britton earned a trip to the Class AA State Tournament.
Britton drew Mounds View's Wyatt McCoy for his state opener, slated to begin at 8 a.m. on June 9 at the University of Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center.
Mound Westonka: White Hawks Fall In Subsectional Final
The Mound Westonka baseball team is teetering on the verge of postseason elimination as the second-seeded White Hawks lost, 9-2, to No. 1 seed Delano in the Section 5AA East Subsectional title game on Thursday in Loretto.
Individual statistics from the game were not available. Mound Westonka will take on Maple Lake in a 5AA elimination game on Monday at 5 p.m. at Loretto.
Orono Baseball: Spartans Season Comes To A Close
A 3-2 loss to top-seeded Delano on Wednesday eliminated the fourth-seeded Orono baseball team from the Section 5AA Tournament with a loss in the semifinals of the East Subsection bracket.
Individual statistics from the game were not available. Orono posted an 8-14 record this season.
Orono Softball: Spartans Fall To Eventual Section Champion
The Orono softball team saw its season come to an end with a 12-2 loss to Hopkins in the one-loss bracket final of the Section 6AAA Tournament on Tuesday in Richfield.
Individual statistics from the game were not available. The Spartans season closed out with a 17-7 record.
