Wayzata Swimmers Take 7th At State
Emma Paulson took first place in the 100 backstroke at the Class AA state meet
The Wayzata girls swimming and diving team finished the Class AA state meet on Saturday with a seventh place finish at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
The Trojans racked up 139 points on the day. Edina won the state meet with 316 points, Minnetonka took second at 188 points and Stillwater finished third with 171 points.
Wayzata’s Emma Paulson won the 100 backstroke state championship, finishing the event in 55.14.

Paulson also took second in the 50 freestyle, and she, Madison Preiss, Mackenzie Merriam and Anna Petty took second in the 200 medley relay.
Brooke Fontaine finished 11th in diving with 337.50 points, and Nicole Fontaine finished right behind her in 12th place with 337.00 points.
