Wayzata Ties Minnetonka in Thrilling Swim & Dive Meet
The Wayzata Girls swim and dive team tied Minnetonka 93-93 late last week.
In an exciting dual meet with Minnetonka that eventually ended in a rare tie, Wayzata's swim and dive team turned in several impressive performances in team and individual events last week.
The teams went back and forth all meet long, and everything came down to the final 400-yard relay in which Minnetonka edged Wayzata with a time of 3:35.15 to 3:35.35.
Even with the split second loss the Wayzata team had many impressive accomplishments.

- Wayzata’s A and B 200 medley relay teams placed 1st and 2nd.
- Junior Emma Paulson took first in the 50-yard freestyle and set a new pool record with a time of 23.67. Paulson also finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.05.
- Freshmen sisters Brooke and Nicole Fontaine took first and second in diving with scores of 218.95 and 208.80.
- Junior Mackenzie Merriam won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.40.
- Eighth graders Madison Preiss and Anna Petty took first and second in the 100-yard breast stroke with times of 1:08.46 and 1:09.53, respectively.
