• Lakeville City Council advances AUAR that evaluated 1,444-unit development (hometownsource.com) — Lakeville's City Council has approved a key environmental review for a proposed 1,444-home development on 390 acres south of 210th Street and west of I-35, even as a housing moratorium remains in place. Residents raised concerns about density, transparency, and the pace of decisions, while the project now heads into comprehensive plan changes, rezoning, and detailed permitting through early next year.
• Last-minute surprise makes SJU graduate a Fulbright grant recipient (csbsju.edu) — A current College of Saint Benedict senior from Lakeville North High School, Gianna Demo, has been selected for a Fulbright posting to Uruguay starting in March 2027 after graduating a semester early. She joins three other recent CSB/SJU Fulbright recipients, including a biology graduate heading to Germany and two others teaching in Spain, continuing the schools' strong record of international scholarship opportunities.
• Report of Armed Person at Farmington High School Turns Out to Be Person Carrying Media Tripod (limitless-news.com) — Lakeville residents may have noticed emergency vehicles racing toward Farmington High School Thursday afternoon, after a report of an armed person that turned out to be someone carrying a media tripod. Lakeville Police joined Farmington and other agencies in a large response, quickly determining there was no threat and clearing the scene while emphasizing their coordinated, precautionary approach.
