Man Dies After Lakeville Shooting, Police Investigating

Police say there is no threat to the public after a man died from a gunshot wound in the 16200 block of Flagstaff Avenue.

LAKEVILLE, MN — An adult man died after being shot in Lakeville on Sept. 6, according to the Lakeville Police Department.

Officers responded to a 911 call for service in the 16200 block of Flagstaff Avenue at approximately 6:25 p.m. When they arrived, they found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Responding officers, along with the Lakeville Fire Department and Allina Health EMS, provided emergency care at the scene. The man was taken by ground ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The Lakeville Police Department said it is in the initial stages of an investigation into what led up to the shooting and how the man's injuries were inflicted. Police said there is limited information to release at this time.

Authorities said there is no information suggesting a threat to the public, and no one is currently in custody in connection with the shooting.
