Dodd Boulevard Rebuild 2027: Lakeville Closure Plan (southmetroscoop.com) — Drivers who rely on Dodd Boulevard in Lakeville should prepare for a full corridor closure between roughly May and late fall 2027 as the city rebuilds the stretch north of 210th Street, adding two roundabouts and a pedestrian tunnel. Detours and event access, including Pan-O-Prog and school traffic, are still being finalized, with a public phasing open house expected between fall 2026 and spring 2027.
2. Lakeville I-35 Interchange Construction Starts 2029 (southmetroscoop.com) — Lakeville drivers face major changes at the I-35 and County Road 50 interchange, with construction on a new diverging diamond design scheduled for 2029–2030 and coordinated with broader I-35 pavement work. Three neighborhood-approved noise walls, trail improvements, and two new traffic signals at Kenyon Avenue and Glacier Way aim to ease disruptions, while right-of-way work affecting nearby properties runs through 2028.
3. Reichenberger fills District 917 spot, School Board seat still vacant (hometownsource.com) — Lakeville Area School Board has appointed Tony Reichenberger as its representative to Intermediate School District 917, but the District 194 board seat he vacated remains open. Board members are leaning toward leaving the position unfilled until November's election, citing concerns about changing board dynamics so close to voting, with a final decision expected at a future regular meeting.
4. Lakers cross country team battles heat, terrain in packed opening week (plnewscompass.org) — Lakeville hosts the Prior Lake boys cross country team Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Apple Jack Invite in Steve Michaud Park, featuring JV, varsity, and C races through the afternoon. After gritty early-season performances in Northfield and Rosemount, the Lakers bring momentum and expanded varsity spots into Lakeville, giving local fans a chance to see rising runners test themselves on home turf.
