• Lakeville cafe listed among the nation's best independent coffee shops (bringmethenews.com) — Lakeville's own Tapestry Coffee has been named a finalist in a USA Today readers' poll for the nation's best independent coffee shops, with both of its locations right in town. Owners credit strong community support for their growth and invite locals to keep backing them as voting continues through Oct. 19, with winners announced Oct. 28.
• World Expo 2031 picks Lakeville: Organizers secure 57 acres for HQ (twincities.com) — Lakeville has been officially chosen to host Expo 2031, a six‑month international horticultural fair expected to draw millions of visitors and leave a permanent "legacy site" near I‑35 and County Road 70. Organizers have a purchase agreement for 57 acres, envisioning a USA Pavilion, hotel, community center, field house and amphitheater, while the city plans an Oct. 21 open house to gather resident feedback on impacts and long‑term benefits.
• Johnny Knoxville has reportedly been hanging out in Dakota County (bringmethenews.com) — Residents around Lakeville and the rest of Dakota County may indeed have spotted "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville recently, as a county commissioner says he and his wife, local native Emily Ting, were visiting northern Dakota County. The couple reportedly spent time around town, graciously interacting with people, while Ting's growing Hollywood costume-design career also drew praise.
