
Oxnard, CA - Brent Alwin, age 45, of Oxnard, CA, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away unexpectedly on May 13th, 2012. A private graveside service will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Brighton Township, Nicollet County. Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling local arrangements.
Brent was born in Minneapolis, April 27th, 1967. After graduating from Lakeville High School, Brent's love of music took him to the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis where he graduated with a degree in audio engineering.
Brent was well-known and respected in the Twin Cities music scene as both a musician and audio engineer. In his youth he recorded albums, played at First Avenue and toured the country with his progressive band The Style Monkeez. Later, as an audio engineer, he toured with various groups in the U.S. and abroad. After leaving life on the road, he was employed by the Walker Art Center and Ordway Theater.

Brent enjoyed camping on the North Shore, spending time with his many friends, and playing his guitar. He was one of a kind.
Brent will be greatly missed by his parents, Allen and Shirley Alwin of Lakeville; brother, Brian (Kimberly) Alwin of Rochester, MN; sisters, Elizabeth (Corey) Baum and Jennifer (Andy) Black, both of Elko-New Market; nieces Megan, Courtney, Mia and Mallory; nephews, Chance (Samantha), Zachary and Max.
