Dr. Brian Betts recieves his Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification.

Dr. Brian Betts, a chiropractor at Lake Marion Chiropractic Center, has recently passed his Corrective Exercise Training exam through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is now a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES).

Corrective exercise is the systematic process of identifying a neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction, developing a plan of action, and implementing an integrated corrective strategy through the use of inhibitory, lengthening, activation, and integration techniques, known as the Corrective Exercise Continuum.  Before implementing the Corrective Exercise Contimuum, an integrated assessment process must be done to determine dysfunction and ultimately the design of the corrective exercise program.  This assessment process should include (but not be limited to) movement assessments, range of motion assessments, and muscle strength assessments.  This integrated assessment process will help in determining which tissues need to be inhibited and lengthened and which tissues need to be activated and strengthening through the use of the Corrective Exercise Continuum.
