On Saturday, Sept 22, the Lakeville Lions and Lakeside Lions took on hunger by hosting a community-wide food and fund drive at the Cub Foods and Rainbow Stores in Lakeville.
A crew of Lions sold concessions and collected generous food donations from grocery store customers. The Lions collected 2,100 lbs of food and 1,880 lbs of hygiene products and laundry soap for the Lakeville Resource Center Pantry, the foodshelf in downtown Lakeville.
Cub East and Cub West in Eagan held special events on Saturday, September 29th. Orchestrated by Cub Store Director Chris Bergsten and his department managers, Cub West sold concessions, had visits from Eagan fire fighters and police officers with their vehicles, games for kids throughout store, and giveaways. Over $325 and almost 500 lbs of food was collected for the Eagan Resource Center. In addition, Cub West employees volunteered two days during the month of September at the Eagan Resource Center Pantry food shelf and held their own employee food drive.
