Lakeville Senior Center Events

• Pre-paid Funeral Appointments

Arnold Zach will be available for one-half hour appointments the first Monday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lakeville Senior Center, this month on May 7.  Sign up for an appointment at the Senior Center.  1 punch per visit.

• Diner’s Club - Thurs., May 10

Do you enjoy eating out, but hate to eat alone?  Then, join the Lakeville Senior Center’s Diner’s Club!  Both singles and couples are invited.  Our next get-together will be at Morgan’s in Burnsville.  Meet at the restaurant on May 10 at 5:00 p.m.  Sign up at the Senior Center by May 8 so reservations can be made.

• Lakeville Senior Center’s Motorcycle Club 

This club for men and women age 50 and older will begin their rides in May. They will go on a 2+hr. ride on the second Thursday of each month, and on the fourth Thursday will take a 4+hr. ride. Both days, they leave the Senior Center at 10 a.m. The first ride on May 10 will be to the Lion’s Tap in Eden Prairie. New this year is a Saturday breakfast ride, on the third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. Riders are to meet at the Senior Center parking lot. Scheduled Saturday rides are:

May 19, Hastings, American Legion

June 16, Belle Plaine, Emma Krumbee’s

July 21, Hudson, Key’s Restaurant

Aug. 18, Faribault, TBD

Sept. 15, Destination to be determined

• Brown Bag Medication Event - Tue., May 15, 9:30 a.m.

A pharmacist will check your prescription and non-prescription medications for potential problems, offer tips for safe and effective medication use, and answer any questions you may have. Talking to your health-care professional about the medicines you take is critical in ensuring the safety and efficacy of your medication therapy. Please bring all of your prescription and non-prescription medications with you for your one-on-one consultation. Pharmacists will also offer additional information about important senior immunizations now available. If you plan to attend, please sign up by May 11. Cost: 1 punch

• Blue Man Group at the Orpheum Theatre - Sat., June 23

Blue Man Group is best known for their wildly popular theatrical shows and concerts which combine comedy, music and technology to produce a totally unique form of entertainment. Although it is impossible to describe, people of all ages agree that Blue Man Group is an intensely exciting and wildly outrageous show that leaves the audience in a blissful, euphoric state. With no spoken language, Blue Man Group is perfect for people of all ages, languages and cultures. Blue Man Group is now on the road for its first U.S. theatrical tour. Seats are located on the Main Floor. Leave the Lakeville Senior Center at 12:45 p.m. and return at 4:30 p.m.  Cost is $78; deadline is May 15.

• MN Twins at Target Field - Wed., June 27

Arrive at Target Field at 11:15 a.m. to see the Minnesota Twins play the Chicago White Sox; game time is 12:10 p.m. Confirmed seats are in the Field Terrace section (located near elevators; walk down to seats.) Target Field offers plenty of concessions, sit-down dining and stores throughout the stadium. For your information, buses are required to park in designated spaces located 2-3 blocks from the Target Field entrance, so you will be required to walk to and from the stadium.  Portable wheel chairs will fit under the motor coach. Leave the Lakeville Senior Center at 10:00 a.m. and return at approximately 4:30 p.m. Cost is $50, payable by May 21.
