If this is the case, there are 10 critical questions you need to ask before making an offer on a short sale.

Question #1- How many banks are involved? 

This question is the 1st one that should be asked to help figure out how hard the short sale may be.  By knowing how many banks are involved it will give you a good indication of the time frame of the short sale.  Finding a short sale with only one bank is the best situation but if you don't ask the question, you could set yourself up for an issue down the road.
