A Blog About My Life, Photography & Travel.

I hope you all had a great Holiday Weekend.  Mother Nature continues to give us a weather roller coaster.  Today is cool and cloudy which I hate.  It is supposed to warm up later in the week so there is hope.

Today's How I Shot It picture was taken at the Orchid Show at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in 2009.  It was taken with my Olympus E500 SLR camera, F8, 1/40th of a second, ISO 100 and hand held shooting.  If I had it to do over again I would have shot it at about F4 to get a shallower depth of field.

Here is an article about using your live view screen on your camera to improve your shots.  It is good to know this runs your battery down a lot faster.   Some of the newer cameras only have live view screens so you really have no choice.

Spring is a great time to go out and shoot Ducks with their Ducklings.  They are so darn cute.  Here is an article with some tips to help in your endeavor.

Today's Thought For The Day comes from the book Each Day A New Beginning:

"To create is to boggle the mind and alter the mood.  Once the urge has surged, it maintains it's own momentum.  We may go along for the ride, but when we attempt to steer the course, the momentum dies."
