The fifth annual Hartford & RE/MAX Results Breast Cancer Ride, created and produced by Charity Events of Minnesota, a Minnesota non-profit organization, rides again on August 4-5, 2012. 500 participants are expected on this annual two-day bicycling event supports the work of two amazing breast cancer services organizations; Open Arms of Minnesota and Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Minnesota Affiliate.
Riders will bike between 100 and 150 miles over the two-day event, depending on whether they choose to do an optional extension loop on Day 1. Each Rider is required to raise a minimum of $750 in pledges, except students and minors, who are required to raise $375. Riders must be 13 years old to participate and accompanied by an adult.
The funds raised by our participants will go to research in the fight against breast cancer in addition to paying for meals for those currently going through a breast cancer diagnosis in Minnesota. Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Minnesota Affiliate is part of the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Open Arms of Minnesota is the only service provider in the Twin Cities that prepares and delivers nutritious meals to people living with breast cancer as well as HIV/AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), and multiple sclerosis.
