Alas the second pre-season game is over with the Vikings defeating the Seattle Seahawks 20-7. It was the Vikings first pre-season victory. I watched the starters play and will comment on them now.
The Vikings first score came on a Marcus Sherels interception returned for a touchdown. It made up for his punt return fumble that gave Seattle the ball. Donovan McNabb led the Vikings on a long drive, but still couldn't put it in the end zone. He shared the wealth though, hitting 5 different players. The 13 play 81 yard drive stalled though and Ryan Longwell made a 36 yard field goal. The only other touchdown in the game came late in the fourth quarter on a Tristan Davis rush. On the other side of the ball the Vikes defense got good pressure. They also showed off their bend but don't break style. They made T-Jack rush some of his passes. The blitz was effective until Seattle went to the screen.

It was good for the Vikings to get their first pre-season victory even if it doesn't count. We should expect a lot more action from McNabb and the starters come Saturday when we take on the Dallas Cowboys at home. Game airs 7 o'clock on Kare 11.
