Officer Sara Brockman was on patrol one night this week when she made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a lane use violation. The driver of the vehicle displayed signs of intoxication and Officer Brockman administered roadside field sobriety tests, which the driver failed. The driver was arrested for DUI and transported to the Police Station for testing and the vehicle was towed and impounded. A breath test indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and the driver was placed in Dakota County Jail, pending formal charges. The driver had 12 previous DUI arrests dating back to 1973, including a felony level DUI conviction.
