Dumb Criminal: 27 MPH Over Speed Limit Leads to DUI Arrest
Drawing the attention of police when violating the law is a common theme for many criminals.

Drawing the attention of police when you are violating the law is one of the poor choices that individuals make when they are under the influence, as happened in this case one night recently.
Shawn McMahon was on patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed. The radar unit in his squad confirmed his suspicion and indicated that the vehicle was traveling 27 mph over the posted limit of 55 mph.
Officer McMahon stopped the vehicle, identified the driver and in speaking with the driver observed signs that the driver might be intoxicated. The driver failed the field sobriety test and a breath test. Officer McMahon arrested the driver for both the speeding and DUI charges.
