Dumb Criminal of the Week: Tossing Water Balloons at Cars

Most times when officers investigate a case of criminal damage to property, they will find the whole incident started out with a really bad idea. Last week Sarah Parr and Rick Hakanson responded to a report from a driver that his vehicle had been hit with an object thrown from another vehicle while he was driving it, causing damage to the windshield.

The officers were able to track down the vehicle that the object was thrown from and found that the projectile used was actually a water balloon. One of the passengers in the vehicle had thought it would be a “good idea” to throw water balloons at vehicles from the moving vehicle.

The officers charged the subject, who told the officers that he understood now that his idea was a really bad idea, with Criminal Damage to Property.
