Kids "n" Kinship Volunteer Information Event

Want to make a difference in your community?  Mentor a child through Kids ‘n Kinship, the community-based mentoring program based in Dakota County.  Kids ‘n Kinship has been matching children ages 5-16 living in Lakeville, Farmington, Burnsville, Apple Valley, Rosemount and Eagan with volunteer individuals, couples, and families for 38 years.  Volunteer mentors spend 1-4 hours a week with the child they’re matched with.  They encourage low-cost, fun and enriching activities like spending time outdoors, sharing hobbies and sports and going to museums, fairs and cultural events (free and low-cost passes available.)  Want to come learn about us?  Meet Kids ‘n Kinship representatives, including Kathy Beatty, a mentor and retiree from Lockheed Martin, and Lanny Stapp, a retiree from 3M, at the Lakeville Senior Center on Jan. 21 at 9:30 a.m.  If you plan to attend, sign up at the Senior Center by Jan. 20.
