Many athletes work on drills to improve sport specific skills and youth athletes naturally get stronger and faster as they mature, but few youth athletes consistently work on the two most important determinants in athletic success – speed and agility. Coaches at higher levels today not only want skilled players, they want strong, quick, and agile athletes.
The LFA Speed and Agility Training Series is a great way to improve an athlete's explosiveness and speed.
Athletes will be trained to eliminate wasted motion that slows athletes down and burns them out. Although some athletes are naturally faster and quicker, speed and agility can be a learned skill and youth athletes can make major improvements if they learn proper techniques, eliminate wasted movements and develop fast twitch muscle movement.
The Goal of LFA’s Speed and Agility Program is to:
- Improve overall athleticism
- Improve quickness
- Improve transition speed
- Eliminate wasted motion
- Increase baseline speed
The sessions will be designed to give players the tools and techniques they need to increase their speed, agility and explosiveness. Players will be given the exercises and be asked to work on these skills outside the scheduled training sessions. Players will be divided into small groups and participate in several skill stations each week. The athletes will be tested at both the beginning and end of the program to measure increases and performance. Results will be provided to athletes.
The training series starts May 1 and is limited to the first 75 registrants. Sign up now on our website to secure a spot in this training series.
