EDITOR'S NOTE: The following information is from the Lakeville Fire Department:

WEEKLY FIRE ACTIVITY:
From May 27, 2013 to June 2, the Lakeville Fire Department responded to 25 calls for service: 7 medicals, 2 gas leaks, 1 carbon monoxide incident, 1 mutual aid for an oven fire, 1 mutual aid for an electrical equipment problem, 1 unauthorized burn, 1 smoke scare, 1 lightning strike (no fire), 7 false alarms and 3 good intents.

FIRE PREVENTION TIPS:
Tip Where should I store my propane tank?
All propane tanks should be stored outside or in a detached shed, protected from the elements and at least 10 feet from any openings to the building, including basement windows, doors and vents.

How do I dispose of an old propane tank?
Take all empty propane tanks back to an outlet that refills them or The Recycling Zone in Eagan. Do not keep them around your home or garage and do not include them with your regular refuse pick up.
