Lakeville North and Eastview entered the week as the Nos. 5 and 6-ranked teams in Class AA respectively and both were amongst the upper division of the South Suburban Conference—the Panthers leading the circuit with a 4-0 conference record and the Lightning at 2-1-1 in SSC play.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Simone Kolander leads North with nine goals and 19 assists, while Panthers goalkeeper Alexis Joyce has saved 35 of 38 shots she has faced.

Paris Sanders paces Eastview with eight goals on the year, followed by Taryn MacMillan and Leah Nesheim with five goals each.

PANTHERS WIN IF …

North had not given up a goal in South Suburban play heading into this week. If the Panthers are able to keep that streak alive, it’s tough to lose when the other team doesn’t score.

LIGHTNING WIN IF ...

The Lightning have seen a drop in scoring since Sept. 8, scoring 8, 4, 2, 0 and 0 goals since that date in putting up a 2-2-1 record over that stretch.  If the Lightning can score closer to the four or eight-goal level, they could eke out a road win.
