Lakeville 8U Lightning Blue "Bombers" Win State Tournament!

Lakeville, June 27, 2015 -- In a gripping battle to the top, the Lakeville 8U Lightning Blue “Bombers” clutch the first place win at the State Tournament played at Dred Scott Playfields in Bloomington, Minnesota. After entering as the tenth seed in a twelve team bracket, the Bombers rose to a four game winning streak against the three top seeded teams in the league - two of which held undefeated regular season records. Winning a tournament was not new to this determined group of girls; earlier in the season they took first place in the Burnsville Fireball and Rosemount Shamrock Showdown tournaments.

The big win was due largely in part to the consistent leadership and direction of coaches Bill Cook, Mike Orth and Melissa Schmidt. Not only did this coaching staff improve the skills, knowledge and ability of each player, but they showed them how to have fun and love the game.
