Lakeville Athletes Compete at Hamline Elite Meet
The top Lakeville North and South track and field members compete at prestigious meet on Friday
The Lakeville North and Lakeville South boys and girls track and field teams were well-represented Friday at the Hamline Elite meet in St. Paul.
North’s girls 4x100 meter team took second with a 49.94 time, second only to Hopkins’ 48.34, which set a new meet record.
The Panthers got three fourth-place finishes at the meet. Jenny Svobodny finished fourth with a 39-foot, 11-inch toss in the girls shot put competition, while Emma Erickson took fourth with a 121-foot, seven-inch performance in the discus and Angie Anyaogu finished fourth in the girls 100 meter dash with a 12.91 time.

In the girls 3200 meter run, North’s Taylor Perkins took fifth with a 11:20.39 finish. In the girls high jump, Max Leake tied for eighth at five feet, 0 inches. In the boys shot put, the Panthers’ Jake Weber took 10th with a toss of 50 feet, 7.25 inches.
For Lakeville South, Morgan Pieri finished fourth overall in the girls high jump with a final leap of five feet, two inches. In the 4x800 meter relay, Megan Barry, Erin Kilbride, Megan Kilbride and Annie Brekken finished 10th overall with a time of 9:57.30.

The Hamline Elite meet is a statewide qualify-only event based on the athletes’ previous results during the 2011 season.
