Fire Extinguishers are an important fire safety tool for your home.

A multi-purpose five pound fire extinguisher is best. Look for the rating to be at least “2A:10 BC” on the label then check the gauge that the pointer is in the green. Most importantly, be sure everyone in your home knows where it’s located and how to use it before an emergency occurs.

From February 6, 2012 to February 12, 2012 the Lakeville Fire Department responded to 11 calls for service; 1 kitchen fire, 1 gas leak, 1 unauthorized burn, 2 motor vehicle accidents (with injuries), 2 medicals, 3 false alarms and 1 good intent.
