Lakeville North and South Send Individuals to State Swimming Finals

The Lakeville North and Lakeville South swimming and diving teams competed Friday at the Class AA state preliminary meet, and each team advanced several swimmers to Saturday’s state finals.

The Panthers were led by the 200 medley relay, which finished seventh with a 1:40.09 time. The medley relay and Trae Schindler in the 200 IM each earned spots in Saturday’s championship heat. Schindler posted a 1:59.82 finish good enough for eighth place.

The top eight seeds in each of Friday’s events will compete in Saturday’s championship heat, and those seeded ninth through 16th will compete in Saturday’s consolation final. 

For Lakeville South, Jake Swanson led the way in the 100 backstroke, finishing fourth overall with a 53.06 time. He also finished fifth in the 100 butterfly with a 52.66 time.

The 200 freestyle relay finished sixth overall and will also compete in Saturday’s championship heat.
