
The Lakeville North baseball team defeated Forest Lake, 9-1, in the Class 3A state consolation championship game Friday at Dick Siebert Field in Minneapolis.
The Panthers (21-5) were making their first appearance in the state baseball tournament. After losing to Rocori, 3-2, in the quarterfinals, they won two games in the consolation round.
Lakeville North reached the consolation championship game by defeating Rochester Mayo, 6-3, in Friday's semifinal.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 3, ROCHESTER MAYO 3
Senior right fielder Zach Creighton went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in to lead Lakeville North to a 6-3 win over Rochester Mayo in a Class AAA consolation game on Friday at Siebert Field.
Seven other Panthers hitters chipped in one hit each. Junior pitcher Dalton Lehnen earned the win on the mound, working 5 2/3 innings and scattering four hits.
LAKEVILLE NORTH 9, FOREST LAKE 1
Lakeville North plated four runs in the second inning ton their way to a 9-1 win over Forest Lake in the Class AAA Consolation Championship game on Friday, June 14 at Siebert Field in Minneapolis.
Junior Dalton Lehnen was 3-for-4 with senior Brandon Morgan and senior Erik Rutt each collecting two hits. Junior catcher Ben Jensen drove home three runs for the Panthers.
Junior pitcher Nick Dorfman worked five innings on the mound to claim the victory.
Lakeville North finished the season with a record of 21-5, while Section 7AAA Champion Forest Lake ended the season 19-7.
