Lakeville North Golfers Seek State Title

The Panthers begin play today at Bunker Hills in the Class AAA state tournament

The Lakeville North boys golf team begins its quest for the 2011 Class AAA state championship today at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

The tournament tees off beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The Panthers, making their fourth state appearance overall, look to improve on their sixth place finish a year ago. To win state, North will need to knock off two-time defending state champion Wayzata.

Lakeville South's Brandon Mader and Justin Doeden also will compete at the state tournament individually.

On the girls side, Lakeville South’s Ellen Rager is making an individual trip to state. She will tee off at 12:25 p.m.
