Panthers defense holds Burnsville scoreless in second half for 17-14 victory
What started out as a disappointment in the first half, turned out to be the game's difference for the football team.
After a long play resulting in a touchdown was called back on a penalty in the first quarter, the offense settled for a field goal by Trey Heid. A touchdown reception by Charlie Hayes gave the Panthers a quick 10-0 lead.
Burnsville was able to turn the momentum of the game around, by rushing quarterback Trey Heid, intercepting two passes and recovering one fumble. The Blaze capitalized on playing a short field and scored two touchdowns in the first half, at one point giving them a four point lead over Lakeville North.

Lakeville North weathered the storm and scored a touchdown just before half time on a drive highlighted by a leaping catch by Joel Oxton. The score put the Panthers up 17-14.
Each team picked up their defensive toughness in the second half and fans watched a scoreless second half, resulting in the three point victory for the Panthers with the first half field goal making the difference.

Lakeville North (5-0) will face rival Lakeville South (5-0) next Friday at home in a battle of the undefeated.
