Lakeville North Legion Cruises Past Eagan

The Lakeville North American Legion baseball team continues to roll through the District 3 tournament.

Lakeville North scored 10 or more runs for the third straight playoff game on Thursday and earned a 10-5 win over Eagan in the district quarterfinals. The win set up a matchup with top-seeded Burnsville on Friday in the semifinals. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. at Alimagnet Park.

North has been on a roll during the district playoffs. Entering as the 13th seed, North needed to defeat Lakeville South in a play-in game to advance to the district bracket. After beating South 12-0 on Monday, Lakeville North downed fourth-seeded Chanhassen 10-0 and fifth-seeded Eagan 10-5.

Three teams advance from District 3 into the state tournament. The loser of this game will be placed in one of the two runner-up games being played on Saturday and will have the opportunity to still earn a state berth.
