Lakeville North’s Krynski Wins State Title in Shot Put

Lakeville North senior Benjamin Krynski won an individual title in the Class 2A boys track and field championships on Friday and Saturday at Hamline University in St. Paul.

Krynski won the shot put title with a throw of 57 feet in the finals. That was nearly a foot better than runner-up Payton Otterdahl, who had a throw of 56 feet 1.75 inches in the finals.

Krynski also finished 12th in the discus throw.

Lakeville North finished in 27th place in the team standings. All 12 of North’s team points were scored by Krynski.

Two Lakeville South athletes reached the finals in the boys state track and field championships, according to the Minnesota State High School League website. They are:

• Thomas Lokkesmoe, who placed 15th in the triple jump.

• Wali Ibrahim, who placed 18th in the 3200 meter run.

Lakeville South did not score any team points in the meet.
