Lakeville Police Send Out Alert On String Of Car Thefts
"Neighborhoods throughout the city are being targeted, especially homes with garage doors open and/or vehicles parked in the driveway."
LAKEVILLE, MN — The Lakeville Police Department sent out an alert Friday about a rise in car thefts and thefts from vehicles in the city.
"Neighborhoods throughout the city are being targeted, especially homes with garage doors open and/or vehicles parked in the driveway," the department said. "Suspects gain quick access via open garage doors and unlocked vehicles. They also aren't afraid to break vehicle windows, even in broad daylight, if they see something they like."
"Because these are crimes of opportunity, you can protect yourself from being a victim," Lt. Bill Gerl said.
