Lakeville South Graduate Johnson Earns Scholarship
Maddie Johnson, who will attend UW Eau Claire, earned the 2011 Minnesota Female Athlete in Sports Medicine scholarship

graduate Maddie Johnson was awarded the 2011 Minnesota Female Athlete in Sports Medicine scholarship by the Women’s Orthopedic Center and Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Johnson, a summa cum laude graduate at Lakeville South, participated in golf, softball and tennis for the Cougars. She was a two-year captain and Most Valuable Player for the girls tennis team.
Johnson will attend the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in the fall in the pre-physician assistant program, majoring in biology and playing tennis for the Blugolds.

According to the program’s official press release, the Minnesota Athletics in Sports Medicine Scholarship recognizes one male and one female athlete annually who intends to pursue a career in sports medicine. The $2,500 scholarship is awarded to graduating student athletes who showcase leadership, success both academically and athletically and are active in their community.
