Lakeville South Volleyball Defeats Burnsville in Tough Match
The Cougars found themselves down early in every game but fought back to win the match, 3-0.
It wasn’t pretty early on in the Cougar’s volleyball match against Burnsville on Tuesday night, but the Cougars played comeback volleyball to sweep the Blaze, 3-0.
The Cougars started slowly in all three games, down at one time by seven points but found a way to win.
“We struggled a little bit, but it was good to see how we handled it,” Lakeville South Head Coach Jennifer Nelson said. “We might not have started strong, but in every match we came through and ended it.”

South won the first game 25-20, the second game 25-23 and the third game 25-17. Throughout the victory the Cougars passed the ball well and attacked the net, sending down booming kills and getting crucial blocks.
But there are things that need improving, according to senior outside hitter McKell Anderson.

“We need to think of it as every point matters,” Anderson said. “We can’t just wait until the last minute to come back and win.”
The Cougar squad will try and improve on weaknesses before they take on the Panthers at Lakeville North at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15.
