Lakeville Sports Roundup: North, South Suffer Defeats

Try as they might, the Lakeville North boys hockey and gymnastics teams could not muster up victories on Thursday night, joining the Lakeville South girls basketball team in defeat on the evening.

North Boys Hockey: Burnsville 6, Panthers 0

A 6-0 loss to South Suburban Conference frontrunner Burnsville at Ames Arena dropped the Lakeville North Boys hockey team to 9-12-1 overall and 6-9 in the circuit.

The Blaze blew open a scoreless contest with a five-goal second period to cruise to the victory while holding the Panthers without a single score on its home ice.

North travels to Hasse Arena to play Lakeville South at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.

South Girls Basketball: Rosemount 66, Cougars 49

The Lakeville South girls basketball team fell to 1-21 overall and 0-14 in the South Suburban with a 66-49 home loss to Rosemount.

Kelsey Thulien and Brianna Meier both tied for the game-high in scoring with 14 points apiece in the loss.

South travels to Prior Lake next Tuesday night for a 7:15 p.m. start.

North Gymnastics: Eagan 147.525, Panthers 140.825

The Lakeville North gymnastics team lost, 147.525-140.825 to Eagan. Individual statistics were not available.
