Lakeville Whiz Kid: Alexandra Diedrich

Lexi Diedrich was inspired by mom's Multiple Sclerosis to help others.

School: Lakeville North High School

Accomplishment: Lexi has been a teen ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since middle school.

Key to Awesomeness: Lexi's mom, Trish, says growing up with a single mom with MS has not been easy for Lexi. But in addition to achieving a 4.0 grade-point-average, Lexi has committed time to the National MS Society since becoming a teen ambassador while in middle school. She has helped organize walks, activities and fund raisers for the organization. In 9th grade she won an award for an essay she wrote about living with a parent with MS that she went on to read in front of 900 people at the MS award dinner.

"When I'm working with the MS Society I'm more challenged because I'm working with adults on a real problem," she says.
