1. Lake Hiawatha Heartwarmer
Where/When: Lake Hiawatha Park, Minneapolis, Saturday 12 to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Let the kids go wild with horse-drawn sleigh rides, a kid's DJ, marshmallow roasting, face painting, arts, crafts and more at this free event. That's right: free.
Pricing: Free entry and some free food.
2. Alice and Wonderland
Where/When: Lakeville North High School, Friday, 2p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m., 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 p.m., 6 p.m.
Why Go: An evening of theater without leaving Lakeville.
Pricing: $6 pre-sale or to $8 at the door.
3. The Depot Ice Rink
Where/When: downtown Minneapolis; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
Why Go: Families and couples will both appreciate ice skating with the downtown Minneapolis skyline as a backdrop while staying warm within the walls of the depot. What more can you ask for in February?
Pricing: $8 for adults, $6 for 17 and under; $7 for skate rental, $2 for skate trainer rental.
4. Omnifest
Where/When: Minnesota Science Museum, St. Paul, Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Why Go: Snuggle up inside the Omnitheater to catch glimpses of space, the rain forest, safari or sea.
Pricing: $8 for adults, $7 for children; First film of the day is free for members.
5. Urban Expedition: Nepal
Where/When: Landmark Center, St. Paul, Sunday, 1 p.m.
Why Go: Get a taste and feel for Nepal without leaving Minnesota with food, crafts and performances.
Pricing: Free.
