Photos: An Emotional Last Day of School in Lakeville
For Lakeville's students, Thursday was the last day of school, and for Crystal Lake Elementary students and teachers, it was the last day before the school closed for good.
Yesterday was the last day of the school year for the Lakeville Area Public School District and most of it's more than 11,000 students.
For some, it was an obvious day to rejoice—the start of summer and no more homework, endless amounts of time to play baseball, go shopping or skateboarding and hang out with friends.
For others, it was a day of mourning, especially for those at . Students and teachers said goodbye to one another, and to the school, for what is likely to be the last time ever. .

Bill Mack, principal at the elementary school, said it was a day of mixed emotions. There was a sadness at the closing of the school, but also an excitement of things to come for teachers and students who are moving on to new jobs and new buildings in the district.
