During the summer months of June, July and August, on average, about two fewer donors schedule an appointment to give blood at each Red Cross blood drive. This can add up to more than 100,000 fewer donations during the summer. We need your support to help restock the supply. The Red Cross supplies blood to about 70% of the hospitals in the metro area and must collect 15,000 blood donations every day to meet the needs of patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country.
