Sports Roundup: Panthers On Cusp Of Conference Title

Lakeville North girls soccer ties Eagan, 0-0, in crucial circuit matchup on Tuesday.

The girls soccer team maintained its healthy lead in the South Suburban Conference, but a championship celebration will have to wait a little bit as the Panthers tied host Eagan on Tuesday.

North Girls Soccer

The top-ranked North girls soccer team engaged No. 7 Eagan in a 0-0 deadlock at Wildcat Stadium that brought the Panthers to 12-0-2 overall and 5-0-2 in the SSC.

Goalkeeper Alexis Joyce made six saves to preserve the tie and log her ninth shutout of the year. North put six shots on Eagan goalie Kristen Knutson.

The Panthers are off until next Tuesday when they host fifth-ranked Burnsville, before closing out the regular season at home against Bloomington Jefferson on Thursday.

South Girls Soccer

The Lakeville South girls soccer team topped Prior Lake 1-0 on Tuesday to improve to 8-3-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference.

Individual statistics were not made available.  The Cougars host Minneapolis South on Thursday night.

North Boys Soccer

A 1-0 defeat of ninth-ranked Eagan improved the North boys soccer team to 8-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the SSC.

Tyler David scored the lone goal of the game, while Connor Revsbeck made 10 saves for his seventh shutout of the year.

The Panthers host Burnsville next Tuesday and close out the regular season against sixth-ranked Jefferson two days later.

South Boys Soccer

The South boys soccer team lost its fifth-straight game, 4-1 to Prior Lake on Tuesday, to fall to 4-7-1 overall and 0-7 in the SSC. 

Individual statistics were not made available. The Cougars have four games remaining in the regular season.

North Volleyball

The No. 2-ranked North volleyball team lost in five games to sixth-ranked Eagan on Tuesday to tall to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in the SSC.

Individual statistics were not made available. The Panthers previously placed third in the Apple Valley Tournament last Saturday.

South Volleyball

A third-straight 3-0 win, a Tuesday sweep of Prior Lake, improved the fourth-ranked Lakeville South volleyball team to 16-1 overall and 4-1 in the SSC.

Individual statistics were not made available. The Cougars had beaten Rosemount by a 3-0 score last Thursday.

Scores and statistics for the Lakeville North and South girls tennis teams were not made available.
