Lakeville Fire Department held its spring, live burn training on Monday, May 16 at the ABLE training site. ABLE, which stands for Apple Valley, Burnsville, Lakeville and Eagan, is a joint training facility located in Burnsville. Firefighters are required to complete one live burn training a year. Lakeville, however, does a  live burn training session in the spring and fall. The training fire is located in one room within the building. Wooden pallets and straw are used to fuel the fire. Training is generally pretty safe. According to Chief Michael Meyer, injures are limited to twisted ankles and cut fingers.
