What's Opened, What's Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Monday, Jan. 16, is the federal observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, meaning government offices, for the most part, are closed.
Here is a list of organizations serving Lakeville residents that are closed or have their hours adjusted because of the observance.
• City of Lakeville offices are closed.

• The Lakeville City Council, which typically meets on Monday night, will meet instead at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.
• Lakeville public schools are closed.

• There will be no mail delivery, as post offices are closed.
• Dakota County Library branches, including Lakeville’s Heritage Library, are closed
• Dakota County government offices are closed.
• Lebanon Hills Visitors Center, part of the county park system, is open.
• Monday is considered a federal bank holiday, so many banks are closed. Some bank branches are open, however. It’s advised you call your bank for holiday hours.
• Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will operate a reduced-weekday schedule. Click here to see that schedule. In addition, MVTA offices are closed.
• Most other businesses are open regular hours.
