📰 News we're reading

• Some Minnesota schools are pulling ahead while others fall short in MCA testing (kaaltv.com) — New statewide test results show Kasson-Mantorville students outperforming state averages in both reading and math, an encouraging sign for families in Mantorville. Local superintendent Beth Giese will also help lead a state task force rethinking Minnesota's MCA testing system, which could eventually change how Mantorville students are assessed and how quickly teachers get usable data.

• Buccaneers hold off JWP, Faribault and Kenyon-Wanamingo both lose (hometownsource.com) — Area high school football teams had a mixed Friday, with Waterville-Elysian-Morristown winning while Faribault and Kenyon-Wanamingo took lopsided losses. For Mantorville fans, the key note is that Faribault will host Kasson-Mantorville next week, giving local supporters a nearby road game to watch the Komets try to capitalize on Faribault's struggles.
