2 Teens From Blaine, MN Drown In WI Lake

BURNETT COUNTY, MN — Two 18-year-olds from Blaine, Minnesota drowned in a Wisconsin Lake last week, authorities said.

On Sept. 1 at about 5 p.m., Burnett County dispatch received several 911 calls reporting that two swimmers had gone missing in Lipsett Lake.

Law enforcement and emergency crews responded with air and water drones, underwater radar, boats, and divers.
The bodies of Grace Rhine and Kyree Schaw were found in about 20 feet of water, authorities said. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful and both teens were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person at the scene was transported to Spooner Health and was later released, authorities said.
"Our hearts go out to the friends and family of Kyree and Grace," the Burnett County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
