Anoka County Inmate Back In Custody After Escaping: Sheriff

MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities say an Anoka County inmate is back in custody after escaping on Thursday.

Terence Martin, 30, of Minneapolis was being transported to jail by an Anoka County Sheriff’s Office deputy in a squad car just before 4:30 p.m., authorities said.

When they arrived, Martin escaped from the squad car and fled on foot, the sheriff's office said.

Officers from Anoka County, Hennepin County, and Minnesota State Patrol were called to the scene and established a perimeter covering downtown Anoka.

"Shortly after the escape," Martin was found and arrested, the sheriff's office said. He was transported back to the Anoka County Jail and is now in custody.
