Blood Donors Needed In Maple Grove Area: Win A Trip To Hawaii
Donors will have the chance to win a trip for two to Hawaii.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Red Cross urges eligible people to make a blood donation as the busy holiday season approaches.
The current blood supply is the lowest the Red Cross has reported this time of year in more than a decade.
At least 10,000 donations are needed per week for the next several weeks to meet demand across the U.S. Donations typically slow during the holiday season.

People who give blood between Nov. 1-12 will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Hawaii, courtesy of Amazon Prime Video. The trip includes round-trip airfare, nine nights of hotel accommodations, a $1,000 gift card for expenses and transportation with tour stops.
Those who donate between Nov. 1-23 will receive a $10 Amazon gift card, courtesy of Amazon.

In most states, donors need to be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health; some states allow 16-year-olds to donate with parental consent. Donors 18 years old and younger need to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arriving at the drive. Appointments can be made via the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, online or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
