Body Discovered In Maple Grove Pond Believed To Be Missing Teen

The ​Maple Grove Police Department says it discovered a body that is believed to be connected with the disappearance of an 18-year-old.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Maple Grove Police Department says it discovered a body that is believed to be connected with the disappearance of 18-year-old Winston Drepaul.

On April 11 at about 2:20 p.m., Maple Grove officers responded to a report of something "suspicious" in a pond near 80th Avenue No. and Lakeview Drive.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol was called to the scene to assist the Maple Grove Police Department. A deceased individual was found and recovered from the water.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner also responded and will formally identify the body.

Maple Grove invesigators say they are in contact with the family.

"The loss of life is difficult and tragic for any family or community," the police department said. "As the investigation continues, further updates will be provided to the community."
