Maple Grove Energy Name New Head Coach

Don Babineau will lead the Maple Grove Energy junior hockey team.

The Maple Grove Energy recently named Don Babineau as the new head coach for the Maple Grove Energy hockey team during the 2012-2013 season. Babineau brings with him 13 years of coaching experience in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League

The is a relatively new junior hockey team for players coming out of high school and looking to gain exposure. 

"I am very pleased to have Coach Babineau join the Energy," Director of Hockey Cal Ballard said. "As a past assistant coach with Coach Babineau, I know he has the experience and knowledge to put a winning team on the ice."

Babineau coaching career began with the Minnesota Owls, where he helped bring the Owls to multiple national tournaments, according to a Maple Grove Energy press release. More recently, he has been part of the Crusaders coaching staff. 

"It just fits. It's the right time in my career to return as a head coach for the Maple Grove Energy," Babineau said. "I believe that I will be able to lead the Energy in a direction where we will be successful."
