Crimson Cross Country Team Results: St. Michael Invitational

The Maple Grove Senior High Cross Country teams traveled to St. Michael last week for the St. Michael Invitational. Patch provides a recap of the top Crimson finishers from the boys and girls varsity, junior varsity and junior high teams.

The Crimson finished behind Apple Valley in both boys and girls varsity races at the St. Michael Invitational Cross Country meet Oct. 6. As a team, the boys finished fourth and the girls finished fifth.

The boys varsity cross country team was led by junior Ryan Graham (17:02.48), who came first place in the 5K race. Senior Dustin Johantgen (17:56.26) finished ninth, sophomore Sean Heaton (18:01.58) finished in 12th place and freshman Mitchell Dickerson (18.44.63) came in 27th  place out of 87 varsity cross country runners.

Top runners for the Maple Grove Senior High girls varsity cross country team in the 4K run were sophomore Kendall Johnson (16:04.78) earning eighth place and eighth grader Genna Brakob (16:46) coming in 18th place.

Senior Travis Crego (19:02.09) came in first on the Crimson boys junior varsity cross country team in 5K race with the next closest Maple Grove finisher being Noah Matthys (20:29.72) in 26th place. As a team, the junior varsity boys cross country team came in fourth.

In the girls 4K run, the Crimson girls junior varsity team secured three of the top ten slots. Eighth grader Jordan Quale (17:36.39) finished third followed closely in fourth place finisher senior Nicole Rademacher (17:40.89). Eighth grader Leah Peterson (18:09.63) finished eighth in the junior varsity run. The Crimson junior high varsity team secured first place over St. Michael-Albertville.

In the cross country junior high girls 2400-yard run, top Crimson finishers were seventh grader Anna Blesner (11:07.89) earned seventh place and Rebecca Eckberg (11:32.91) earned 17th place. As a team, the girls junior high cross country team came in third.

In the cross country junior high boys 2400-yard run, eighth grader John Harbinson (9:51.51) came in 12th, followed by Isaac Holcomb (9:55) in 14th place and Justin Brakbo (9:55.17) in 15th place. As a team, the Crimson junior high cross country team came in fourth.
